Tav Falco ~ Panther Burns
WELLFIRE:
Séance for Deranged Lovers
"Tav Falco was postmodern when post modern
wasn't cool. The singer-guitarist who has collaborated with
filmmaker Kenneth Anger and rockabilly pioneer Charlie Feathers, has spent
most of the past two decades
crafting a revisionist pop culture history - one that seamlessly fuses the
aesthetics of
Dean Martin and
Jerry Lee Lewis."
David Sprague - Variety
Thus far Tav
Falco has released 9 albums and 16-singles including a numbered edition,
boxed set, released
by New Rose, and he has appeared in four feature length movies. The band
has been around awhile ~ performing
steadily for 2-decades across
North America, Eastern & Western Europe, and
Australia.
Earlier fans
are waiting for his "masterpiece"; the younger fans want to know the next
steps from what they have
already seen in the stage shows. The new Tav Falco album should start
where SHADOW DANCER ended,
previously released in 1995 by Intercord/EMI.
There are two essential film/videos, which show the way and the new
direction: Born Too Late and especially
Love's Last Warning with Kenneth Anger. (Both shown on MTV Europe and on
music TV in North America).
WELLFIRE should be recorded with his longtime touring band Panther Burns.
Typically
the Panther Burns band features an international line-up:
Michael
Perry Allen - keyboardist on many Al Green recordings and a veteran of
Hi Studios in
Memphis.
He is the producer of the SHADOW DANCER album, and now resides in
Italy.
Giovanna Pizzorno - drummer on numerous Panther Burns tours in
North America and
Europe.
She learned her craft under tutelage in
Memphis. Giovanna now lives in
Rome.
Grégoire CAT - a distinguished guitarist who started his career as
a teenager in
Paris behind the
rock legend, Vince Taylor. He plays an orange Gretch and displays a
mastery of various styles.
Laurent LO - the youngest and newest member of the band, plays a
Gibson bass and is devoted to
the mystique of the group... representing the future generation of Panther
Burns.
The audience
attending Tav Falco shows has changed in the last years. Not only are
there the earlier fans,
who have every record, and still buy the latest release, but younger
people, too. New, fresh fans, who may not
have Tav Falco's whole "history" in their heads, but they are listeners
out to experience something they have
not experienced before, but only heard about. Maybe they know the last
and/or the second last CD, but mostly
they know the sensational shows.
CONJURATIONS should be released as:
1. CD.
2. DVD containing parallel imagery.
3. Film/Video Clip produced by Guy Maddin (Saddest Music in the World,
with Isabelle Rossalini).
Tav Falco and Panther Burns are ready and dedicated to tour in Europe &
UK, USA, Japan,
Australia and elsewhere in support of the release.
